That's a wrap!

It’s time to put the wraps on another great air show here in Paris. All week long, we had the chance to showcase our new airplanes and innovative technologies to some incredibly receptive crowds. I put together a video showing you just a few of the groundbreaking things we’re doing—thanks in large part to our suppliers.

We also made key order announcements from our customers, including some significant orders on the widebody side. My colleague Elizabeth Lund, who heads up the 747 program, said it best: “Many of our customers have called and said ‘Can I please come and see your Intercontinental,’ and we love that because usually we’re knocking on their door.” The Intercontinental and the Dreamliner really did steal the show this year.

Welcoming everyone on board the 787 with “open” arms.

Before I say “au revoir” to Paris, I wanted to share a few other fun moments from here at the air show. Earlier today, I hosted a “tweetup” where anyone who follows us on Twitter could stop by and say hello. We had a great crowd of about 50 people. With the help of flight attendants from airberlin, we gave away models of the Dreamliner and 737 at random. I should also mention that Boeing’s team of tweeters was awarded the “Paris Power Tweeter” award by FlightGlobal for their excellent coverage of the show.

Of course, I couldn’t leave Paris without talking about the food. Last night, I sat down for a cocktail at a restaurant near the Louvre just as the sun was starting to set.

While we had some outstanding meals, the sight of this hot dog—Parisian style—was especially appealing after a long day on my feet.

Farnborough sounds like a very cool place to launch the 787-10.

I love to see the 787-10 get launched, perhaps with the larger wings that where once proposed for the 787-9 as it may replace the 777-200ER and compete head on with the range, capacity with reduced weight, drag and costs than the A350-900.

Even though Airbus has sold hundreds of A320NEO in a few hours, 737 where still sold, plenty, the 787 and the 777-300ER did good and 15 747-8 Intercontinentals and even a 767 was sold.

It is an honor and privilege to see Randy on his absolute thrust power throughout the Paris Air Show.
A320 might get 700 orders, But it is 737-800/700/900ER always rocks the sky for its boldness, pace and higher capability of Range and Fuel efficiency. Being an Boeing Fan Forever, I would like to see BOEING would emphasis on 777-NX (wing stretched design) followed by Introduction of 787-10. 747-8 is an essence of Freighter market all across the globe as well as Passenger service. Highly ac claimable demand of freighter market up to 2030 will keep 747-8 to glide the sky nicely. BOEING believes on innovation, creation and determination that is the benchmark to ROCK THE SKY FOREVER.

Neo has got many orders, that's a good news for the program. But don't ever think that that's a bad news for the competition. With the new neo orders and the A320 Classic orders, the A320 backlog become "amazingly" huge.

A whole lot of Paris was in the palm of anyone's hand, especially with all the multiple feeds you guys and many, many other companies and dedicated industry media houses put out. Boeing had active Twitter, Flickr & Youtube accounts. Absorbing, thanks!

Props for the 15 747-8 Intercontinental orders, and also for the other regular stars - the 777-300ER and 737NG. Old bird please!

Noting also significant success for the ATR turboprops, the Bombardier CSeries, and of course the A320NEO. The success of the A320NEO in particular, and I think the A319NEO - couple of those sold as well - turns the spot light to the A321NEO (and 737-900ER) vis-à-vis the 757-200 replacement market. That's still unfinished business on both sides.

Why did the company decide to remove all the Boeing commercial planes from display prior to the public portion of the show? As a Boeing employee attending the show this weekend, I was disappointed that the end users of our products (the flying public) didn’t have a chance to see any of our great airplanes. That being said, congratulations on a successful air show and thanks for the great coverage of the portion we couldn’t attend!

Hi David,

Sorry we couldn't keep the airplanes there longer. Two of them were customer airplanes that needed to get back into service. The 787 had a customer visit in Poland, the 747-8 Freighter had a customer visit in Luxembourg, and the Intercontinental needed to get back over here as we continue our flight testing. Thanks for the note about the coverage-- glad you enjoyed it!
