Spirit of 12s

This has been a special week for all of us who work at Boeing in the Puget Sound area. As the Seattle Seahawks get ready to play in Super Bowl XLVIII, we managed to pull off a jumbo sized surprise to salute the team.

A 747-8 Freighter in Seahawks livery made its debut on Wednesday. The airplane then took to the skies over the rest of the week, flying past Seattle landmarks and then to Eastern Washington— where it flew in a pattern that formed the number “12,” a salute to all Seahawks’ fans.

We’re proud to sponsor the Seahawks during this magical season and to have partnered with the team for more than a decade on projects in the Puget Sound. And we’re thrilled to be able to bring two Northwest icons together— the 747 and Seahawks. We’ll be rooting for you on Sunday. Go Hawks! Justin (Phoenix):

Thanks to all of you at Boeing who had a hand in this. As a displaced Seahawks fan, it is stunning to see this beautiful airplane. Well done!

Rob ( Canada) (Vancouver, Canada):

Congratulations Seahawks and the 12th man on winning the Super Bowl. Hope to see the Hawks 747-8 flying over the parade route this Wednesday.
Lots of fans north of the border in British Columbia were routing for the Hawks.
Also thanks to Boeing for this stunning aircraft in Seahawks colours and recognition of the 12th man.

Carl (Sacramento, CA):

Super Bowl Champions 2014
Think you guys should fly the team around the area.

Thanks for the air support :)

Tim (Baltimore):

The Superbowl torch has been passed from the Baltimore Ravens to the Seattle Seahawks.
Congratulations Seattle, Boeing, and Randy on your Superbowl win.
It's kinda fitting though, the movie sleepless in Seattle knowing that both cities were in that movie, Baltimore and Seattle, and that the Seattle Seahawks follow the Baltimore Ravens on their Super Bowl win.

Ben R. Ogletree Jr. (Livingston, TX):

The logo, pep rally and other mojo appears to have worked! Are you going to pull it to the edge of the ramp and cover with tarps in case it's needed next year?

Norman (Long Beach, CA):

Congrats to the Seattle Seahawks from a Denver Broncos fan on the Super Bowl victory. We got spanked. Go 12!
