Key delivery

Last week, Cargolux took delivery of its 10th 747-8 Freighter. It was great to hear from the airline’s President and CEO, Dirk Reich, about how the airplane is transforming the cargo carrier’s business.

Cargolux and Boeing representatives mark the delivery of Cargolux’s 10th 747-8 Freighter.

In the notoriously tough cargo market, Reich described how the fuel efficiency of the 747-8 Freighter has allowed Cargolux to successfully implement a dual hub strategy between its base in Luxembourg and Zhengzhou, China - a major transportation gateway to the Far East.

It’s been just under three years since Cargolux took delivery of its first 747-8 Freighter, becoming the first carrier in the world to operate the airplane.

Congratulations to Cargolux on this key delivery as the 747-8 Freighter plays an integral role in all of our customers’ continued success.

Daniel (Salt Lake City):

I think the economics of the 7478F make it the perfect fit for many carriers. And you can't beat how it looks. I hope to see more orders soon.

Norman Garza (Long Beach, CA):

There no other cargo plane in the world like the 747-8 freighter in width, space, and economics.
