Blue and gold

I always enjoy showing off the livery of a new 787 customer. And this one is especially striking.

Boeing photographer Tim Stake captured these images yesterday of the first flight of the first 787 for Vietnam Airlines.

Vietnam Airlines has eight 787-9s on order and an additional 11 through lease agreements. London is the first city they’ll be using the 787.

Congratulations to Vietnam Airlines on this beauty. We look forward to delivering it soon.

Mike Whitney (UK):

The Vietnam Airlines livery shows off the next generations twins of both major OEMs to their best advantage.
For me, some liveries (are you listening Tui) give the Dreamliner are very dumpy front perspective, like the Nimrod, but this makes it look really graceful.

Norman Garza (Long Beach, CA):

Very nice, I'd like to see Vietnam Airlines enter the North American market with the 787-9.
