Wrapping up Farnborough

Another busy air show has come to a close at Farnborough. As usual, the flying display each day was the highlight. What amazed everyone is how the 737 MAX did a near-vertical takeoff— similar to the 787.

We finished the air show with 182 orders and commitments from our great customers, valued at almost $27 billion. Our year to date net order total now stands at 321 airplanes. We also got to spend time with our partners and suppliers who are helping us continue to out-deliver the competition and stay right on track with our development programs.

Here’s me speaking with the media in front of the 737 MAX.

While I spent a lot of time doing media interviews, our team also got a chance to enjoy some local traditions— including a night of Cricket.

Warming up for Cricket.

Finally, Boeing turns 100 tomorrow. I’m proud to say I’ve been with the company for a third of its history. To all Boeing employees past and present, thanks for making this such an amazing place to come to work every day. I hope you take time to celebrate this incredible milestone— and cheers to the next 100 years.

Happy Centennial Boeing!!
100 years of pioneering and innovation. You build wonderful, fabulous airplanes and i.m a huge fan! Last week i saw a landing of a brandnew 787-9 from KLM at Schiphol airport here in the Netherlands. I stood at the spottersplace near one of the runways and was amazed by the beauty of this machine..So quiet,so majestic and with amazing wingflex. But my favorite airplane is the 747...for me the most beautiful airplane ever build..And you guys at Boeing made this machine possible and created a new market with it.Thanks for all the fine airplanes you made and wiĺl make in the future.A toast to the 100 years!

Randy - Boeing aircraft kept me safe during a 35 year career as an FA (worked on 727-200, 737-200,300,400,700,800, 747-400, 757-200, 767-200,300 and 777-200,300) and I have a huge affection for them that enables me to forgive minor issues, whatever they might be.

The only thing that might strain that affection would be further pictures of you playing cricket! Americans can do many, if not most things better than the rest of the world; Cricket isn't one of them (I say that in the nicest possible way).

A very Happy and well deserved 100th Birthday to all Boeing employees

I would have loved to see the 737 MAX 8 fly, the picture on the top is my favorite.
